A few weeks ago I wrote about Golf In The Golden Corner (if you didn’t have a chance to read it you can check it out here). Oconee County is home to some great golf communities and courses – but as it turns out…so is the rest of the Tri-County Area (Anderson, Oconee & Pickens Counties).
For part 1 of Golf Beyond The Golden Corner I will focus on the courses and communities in Anderson County. There is a very eclectic mix of courses scattered around Anderson – from the small and simple to the more complex and difficult – there is a course for any and all level of competition.
Boscobel is a community located in Pendleton, South Carolina – just minutes from Clemson University. It has an 18-hole public golf course that is just under 6,500 yards. Designed by Fred Bolton in the 1930’s, it has since been updated by Russell Breeden. The clubhouse holds the fully stocked pro shop, PGA professionals, snack bar & grill.
Brookstone Meadows, located in Anderson, South Carolina features a 6,685 yard 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Jackson. The par 72 course has four tee boxes and amenities like a state-of-the-art practice facility, PGA professionals to help with your game, a large clubhouse and a snack bar.
Cobb’s Glen is located in Anderson, South Carolina and is home to an 18-hole, 7,002 yard championship golf course designed by George Cobb in 1976. The pristine course offers four tee boxes for varied skill levels. Cobb’s Glen facilities include a full service pro shop, putting greens, driving range, and a restaurant and lounge in the clubhouse.
Stone Creek Cove is a community located in Anderson, South Carolina along the shores of Lake Hartwell. Built in 1971, the semi-private nine hole golf course measures 5,552 yards when you play 18 holes and has four sets of tees to make playing as challenging as you wish. They even have a pick up service for those who wish to access the course by boat!
Pine Lake Golf Club is a semi-private 18-hole golf course located in Anderson, South Carolina. Designed by Russell Breeden in 1963 the 6,366 yard course offers three sets of tees for differing difficulty. Open year round the Pine Lake Golf Club also has a driving range and a full time golf pro available to tweak your game.
Located in Pendleton, South Carolina, Woodhaven Golf Club is a 9-hole public golf course. Peter Gibson designed the course in 1971 that measures 1,580 yards. Woodhaven Golf Club is open year round, has two sets of tees for varying skill levels, a golf pro available and a driving range.
