This cute town is minutes from Clemson University, convenient to I-85 and full of historic charm.

One of the nations’s largest historic districts, the Town of Pendleton spans 3.8 square miles… and every inch is registered with the National Register of Historic Places! Founded in 1790 on land that was part of the Cherokee Indian Nation, Pendleton is one of the few historic towns that hasn’t changed.

With a population of just under 3,000 (according to the 2020 Census) the Town of Pendleton is a warm and inviting place to call home.


LOCATION

Pendleton is located in Anderson County, South Carolina. It’s just a few miles from I-85, making it easy to access major cities like Atlanta and Charlotte. It is bordered by Central, Clemson, and La France.

EDUCATION

The schools in Pendleton are great! There are 5 public schools and no private schools. Students will attend Pendleton Elementary, Mount Lebanon Elementary, LaFrance Elementary, Riverside Middle School, and Pendleton High School. When it comes to higher education, Pendleton is just minutes from Clemson University and is home to the main campus of Tri-County Technical College.
