This area in Anderson County is one of the Census Designated Places (CDPs) of South Carolina and is a pleasant, unincorporated community of 1,043 residents who have made their lovely homes right in between Pendleton and Anderson. Located off Hwy. 76, Sandy Springs boasts convenience to I-85, the bustling city life of Anderson, the quaint town of Pendleton, and the exciting and popular Clemson area in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Sandy Springs unironically got its name from a natural spring in the sands. The fertile land is optimal for farming and many travelers pass through and admire its rolling hills and charming, small-town feel.
Residents have a pleasing quality of life here and many of the homes are unique, so people with all kinds of tastes and real estate preferences can find what they’re looking for. Living so close to a variety of compelling places, locals of this area are always able to find something enjoyable to do.
Pendleton is its closest neighbor and as far as adorable, celebrated towns go, it doesn’t disappoint. Pendleton has beautiful historic buildings, hospitable charm, community-building events, and a homey feel to its tree-lined downtown square. In proximity to Sandy Springs, Anderson is the closest metropolitan area. Although it’s a larger city, it still has a small-town feel because of its friendly and hospitable residents. Here you’ll find the Anderson Mall with plenty of corporate shopping options. Hwy. 76 is lined with every type of chain restaurant, electronic store, and shopping strip, so you’re guaranteed to find whatever you need as you drive through Anderson. But if you’d rather discover some of the rural areas around the city, Denver Downs Farm is a great place to bring the family. They have a festival for every season, but the Fall Festival is definitely a must. The pumpkin patch, the corn maze, bonfires, and live music make Denver Downs one of the finest agritourism locations in the state.
