    Lake Hartwell Real Estate

    Named after Nancy Hart, a woman who tricked the British soldiers during the Revolutionary War, Lake Hartwell is a manmade lake created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The project began in 1955 and was completed in 1963.

    The largest in the Southeast, Lake Hartwell is surrounded by 23,000 acres of land between South Carolina and Georgia. Properties are located in 6 counties; Hart, Franklin, and Stephens Counties (GA) and Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties (SC).
