Lake Hartwell Real Estate

Named after Nancy Hart, who stole the muskets from the British soldiers and held them at gunpoint until help arrived during the Revolutionary War, Lake Hartwell and the Hartwell Dam were constructed between 1955 – 1963 by the US Army Corps Of Engineers, who still maintains the lake and shoreline. It’s enjoyed by over 9,000,000 visitors every year.

The largest in the Southeast, Lake Hartwell is surrounded by 23,000 acres of land between South Carolina and Georgia. Properties are located in 6 counties; Hart, Franklin, and Stephens Counties (GA) and Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties (SC).

Known as an angler’s paradise, there are 3 state parks and over 45 public boat ramps on Lake Hartwell, so accessing the water is never a problem.

The shores of Lake Hartwell are lined with diverse properties. You’ll find everything from tiny homes to grand estates.

While there are some developed communities, a large portion of the properties on Lake Hartwell remain unrestricted.
