There’s always something happening in Easley. At 13 square miles with a population of 24,155, this small-ish city is next-door neighbor to larger cities Greenville, Anderson, and the exciting college town of Clemson. If you’re looking to escape city and suburban life, the Blue Ridge Mountains are just a short drive north. Most residents here are happy homeowners made up of families, young professionals, and retirees. Easley’s cozy suburban atmosphere offers many parks and restaurants and an active downtown area. It’s a wonderful place to find your new home at a surprisingly low cost of living considering it’s an area of constant growth with convenience to just about anything you could need.

History

Named after Civil War General, William King Easley, the area began to grow economically and in population once the Charlotte-to-Atlanta Airline Railroad laid track through town in the late 1800s. The railroad also aided in fuel development of the textile industry for the entire county of Pickens.

This town in the Upstate eagerly embraced its railroad roots and continued to thrive off the textile industry and energetic downtown spirit to grow into the dynamic city it is today.
